The New Zealand Music Producer Series (now AMPS) launched in 2017 and has become an integral part of upskilling Aotearoa’s production sector. The series has attracted the participation of some formidable international producers including: Andrew Scheps, Sylvia Massy, David Wrench, Gil Norton, Romesh Dodangoda, Dave Eringa and Mark Rankin.
In 2020 we introduced the AMPS music producer workshops - a series of 10 one-day production seminars held at Roundhead Studios in Auckland. We extended this in 2021/2 with the AMPS Regional program featuring 20 days of workshops in 12 regions, from Whangarei to Invercargill, to form producer networks throughout the country. These featured some of New Zealand’s finest producers including: Bic Runga, Josh Fountain, Estère, Simon Gooding, Sam de Jong, Rory Noble, Anonymouz, Lee Prebble, Missy, Tom Lee, Sam Trevethick and Tom Healy.
To launch AMPS Mix Me ’23 we have partnered with the MPG NZ for a special seminar with producer and mix engineer Simon Gooding (Pink, Neil Finn, Drax Project) for a one-day mix workshop at Big Fan on March 17th.
This year AMPS will again be run by founder and producer Greg Haver and songwriter/artist Ash Wallace.
