Bridges - 'Lungs' Single Release Show

Aotearoa indie-pop artist Bridges is throwing a release party to celebrate the long-awaited release of her single 'Lungs'. This is the first single to come from her next project, set for release in 2025.

Bridges is quickly rising in the local scene, with the female fronted indie-pop act recently selected to perform at the 2024 Going Global Showcase. The 4-piece live band is high energy, weaving introspective songwriting with walls of guitars, massive drums, and pop-forward, hook-laden melodies.

Her 2023 debut EP TWENTY SOMETHING was met with acclaim and featured on MTV, Coup de Main, The Hits, Radio Hauraki's Locals Only Podcast, Billie Magazine, and RNZ. NZOA-funded singles ‘Pills’ and ‘Misfits’ quickly gained streaming traction; ‘Pills’ being playlisted on Spotify’s ‘Fresh Finds Pop’ (200k), ‘The Local List Aotearoa’ (18k) and ‘Fresh Finds AU & NZ’ (18k), as well as Apple Music playlists ‘New Music Daily’, ‘Breaking Pop’ and ‘New In Pop’.

Joining Bridges at Big Fan is special guest Brody Leigh; an ascending artist who weaves emotive lyricism seamlessly with slick pop sensibilities. Since winning Smokefreerockquest's National Solo/Duo competition in 2020, Brody has been paving a path as a solo artist with the release of her singles 'Sad Club' and 'Pilot'; she is undoubtedly an artist to watch.

Bridges is the artist project of Ōtautahi Christchurch-born, Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland based songwriter Rachel Hamilton (she/her), with the live band consisting of Rāwiri Waters (he/him) on drums (Kāti Māmoe, Ngāi Tahu), Bray Jeffrey (they/them) on keys and guitar, and Sam Nash (he/him) on bass.

These shows will see Bridges and her live band bring to life the new single 'Lungs'; a few sneak peaks at yet-to-be-released tracks; as well as favourites from the TWENTY SOMETHING EP.
